Enhanced Profile Example

Now assume you were to back up the same machine using the enhanced backup profile. While the cost per gigabyte would remain the same, you would be charged more because you would actually back up twice as many files and store them for 30 days instead of 7.

Taking the same 12 GB of data from the first example, under the Enhanced profile, you would be charged

  10 * $5.00 (your cost per gigabyte) = $50.00
+ 2 * $3.00 (your cost for the remaining 2 GB) = $6.00 for a total of $56.00 per month.

Once again, this is an extremely simplified example that assumes no changes to the stored data. Your actual tape usage will vary over the course of the month depending on how frequently files are edited and backed up.

The Enhanced profile offers thirty day storage of previous file revisions and the added security of two previous revisions (as opposed to the single previous revision offered in the Basic profile).
