VPN for Guests Using Other Operating Systems

If you aren't using a modern Windows or Macintosh operating system, CITES cannot provide personal support for you.

However, you may be able to configure your operating system to connect to the CITES VPN if your system offers a PPTP-capable VPN client.

To construct your own VPN connection method, you should configure your VPN client as follows:

• VPN server name: vpn3.near.uiuc.edu
• Connection method: PPTP
• Username: Your guest account name
• Password: Your guest account password
  

As mentioned above, CITES cannot provide personal support or assistance if you are not using a modern Windows or Mac operating system. These guidelines are available for reference, but you will need to work out the configuration of your own system and its VPN client.
