Determining Your Software's Requirements

Every program has certain minimum requirements for it to run properly and smoothly. Below you will find a form you can use to discover the requirements for the applications you need. Check each application you require in the box labeled "Software I need to run". After you are done, you can view the combined software, hardware, and operating requirements in the box labeled "Requirements" below the form.

Microsoft Exchange Messaging, calendaring, and collaboration services offered to campus
Oracle Calendar (client) Calendar services offered to the UIUC campus with both client and web-based uinterfaces
Oracle Calendar (web) Calendar services offered to the UIUC campus with both client and web-based uinterfaces

Mallard A course management system that focuses on quizzing developed at the University of Illinois
WebBoard A web-based conferencing system and chat tool for instructional use
Illinois Compass An enterprise learning management system that provides tools for managing and delivering course assignments, tracking and publishing grades, and delivering online course material, all in a collaborative online environment

CISCO 300 Client (VPN) A service that provides security over wireless connections and allows people connecting through third-party Internet service providers to access UIUC services that require UIUC-based IP addresses
Movian VPN A service that provides security over wireless connections and allows people connecting through third-party Internet service providers to access UIUC services that require UIUC-based IP addresses
Netlock (VPN) A service that provides security over wireless connections and allows people connecting through third-party Internet service providers to access UIUC services that require UIUC-based IP addresses
UIUCnet Wireless A wireless network that allows UIUC-affiliated users with wireless-enable devices to connect to the access points located around the campus

Security

Bluestem A web-based Kerberos authentication system that ensures the identity of a person accessing restricted online resources or web applications
Kerberos An authentication service that uses the NetID and NetID Password to validate a person's identity and permit access to secure services

UI-Integrate (AITS) Administrative Tasks

AITS Core Applications These workstation recommendations are intended for those who plan to purchase of new workstations that will run AITS administrative applications (Core Applications)
Banner Administration UI-Integrate/Banner client that allows access to administrative functions of Banner, including related software products such as Business Objects, Workflow, and Document Management
Banner Business Objects This tool is used to access some UI-Integrate reports
Banner Citrix ICA Client This will be used to deploy "fat" clients that are used for administering Banner Workflow, document management, Appworx, Evisions, and RightFax
Banner GUI This client is a thin java applet that requires the installation of Oracle Jinitiator (an enhanced Java Virtual Machine) on the user's workstation
P-Card End User Client This is used to enter and administer information about procurement card transactions
P-Card Fat Client Fat client for University Administrators, Campus Administrators, and Auditors
Web Self-Service Web-based applications inclusing Web-for Students, Web-for Faculty, and Employee Self-Service
WebXtender This is a web-based component of Legato's software suite of XtenderSolutions™ products that facilitates file/object storage, OCR, and many other features for document management
Workflow This provides access to workflow action lists
