Interfaces

Description

The CITES Status Service provides bulletins and alerts about the condition of the campus network and CITES services through four means:
  • the Status of Services web page
  • the Status RSS feed
  • the Status Email Subscription--two opt-in mailing lists
  • the Status Voice Line--a guided phone interface

Who can use this service

Anyone, although the information is often presented at a technical level suitable for Information Technology (IT) professionals

When the service is available for use

Supported Service Hours:
8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Weekdays

Extended Service Hours:
5:00 P.M. to 8:00 A.M. Weekdays (excluding the maintenance hours listed below)
Weekends (excluding the maintenance hours listed below)

Maintenance Hours (for the Status of Services web page, Status RSS Feed, and Status Email Subscription):
5:30 A.M. to 7:30 A.M. Weekdays
5:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Saturday
5:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Sunday

What you must have in order to use the service

  • Computer with Internet connection (to use the Status of Services web page)
  • Web browser (to use the Status of Services web page)
  • Telephone (to use the Status Voice Line)
  • Email account (to use the Status Email Subscription)
  • RSS reader (to use the Status RSS feed)

A subsidy provided by the Provost on behalf of the campus allows CITES to offer this service at no charge.
