Description |
CITES Express Email provides
access to an email account through a secure web
interface, as well as secure POP or IMAP connection.
The web interface provides convenient features
such as quota checking, email forwarding, message
filtering, and vacation auto-reply.
Students are provided a standard allotment of 100 MB of email storage.
Faculty and staff receive 150 MB.

Who can use this service |
All current campus students,
faculty, staff, and retirees are eligible for accounts.
Students are provided an account when they enroll
for the first time. Faculty and staff are usually
offered an account during the NESSIE "new hire"
process, but can also request an account later.

Service Hours:
Twenty-four hours a day, excluding the maintenance hours
listed below
Maintenance Hours:
5:30 A.M. to 7:30 A.M. Monday through Friday
5:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Saturday
5:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Sunday

What you must have in order to use the service |
- NetID
-
CITES Express Email Password
- Computer with Internet connection
- One of the following:
- Web browser that supports Secure Socket
Layer (SSL) encryption. Most recent browsers have this feature.
- Email client that can use either POP or IMAP via SSL. Most
recent email clients have this feature.

Cost

A subsidy provided by the Provost on behalf
of the campus allows CITES to offer this service to students,
faculty, and staff at no charge for the basic email storage quota.
Accounts remain active for students and employees
as per the Chief Information Officer's
Authorized Users and Services policies. Note
that accounts are deactivated for students who do
not enroll by the 10th day of classes in the Fall
or Spring semesters. |
