Description	Email redirection allows people and departments to easily update their NetID@uiuc.edu email address without the need to notify senders of a change in email accounts.
Who can use this service	Any person, department, or unit with an Electronic Directory entry and the ability to change its email field using the Electronic Directory Editor
When the service is available for use	Supported Service Hours: Twenty-four hours a day, excluding the maintenance hours listed below Maintenance Hours: 5:30 A.M. to 7:30 A.M. Monday through Friday 5:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Saturday 5:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Sunday The NetID@uiuc.edu Email Redirector service consists of several redundant servers that are rarely inaccessible at the same time. The service will almost always be available during these maintenance hours.
What you must have in order to use the service	Electronic Directory entry An email account in which your NetID@uiuc.edu email is received (for example, CITES Express Email, a departmental email account, Yahoo! Mail, or Gmail) If you choose to change the email account to redirect your NetID@uiuc.edu email, then you must have the ability to edit the Electronic Directory entry email field using the Electronic Directory Editor. To do this: Individuals need: NetID and NetID password Departments/units need: proxy rights for the entry, as well as NetID and NetID password

Dependencies on other services	Network Infrastructure Electronic Directory Electronic Directory Editor (if changing the email account listed in the entry) CITES Spam Control the email account to which your NetID@uiuc.edu email is delivered (for example, CITES Express Email, a departmental email account, Yahoo! Mail, or Gmail)
Cost	A subsidy provided by the Provost on behalf of the campus allows CITES to offer this service at no charge.

How to find out about changes to this service	Significant changes to this service will be announced on the CITES homepage, the CITES Status web page, and the CITES-ANNOUNCE and CITES-TECHSUPPORT lists.
