Description |
Bluestem is a browser-based web authentication
framework that ensures the identity of a person accessing restricted
online
resources or
web applications. Bluestem uses the NetID and
NetID Password to validate a person's identity so that he or she
may access
online services such as NESSIE, CITES
Software Webstore,
the Password
Home Page, the Electronic
Directory Editor, and course
software. |
Who can use this service |
- Everyone at the University
of Illinois can use their NetID
and NetID password to enter Bluestem-authenticated online
applications (although
individuals may not be authorized to actually use a particular
application).
- Individual departments can choose to implement
Bluestem
authentication
on
their web servers and for applications that they develop.
For more information on how to do this, see the Bluestem web
page.
