PasswordVault for Mac

Introduction

There are two versions of PasswordVault that you can use with Macintosh OS X computers.

Installing PasswordVault on your desktop machine

To install PasswordVault software on your desktop machine:

  1. Download PasswordVault for Macintosh OS X from the Software WebStore.

  2. Double-click the file you downloaded to unzip PasswordVault.
  3. Drag the newly-created, uncompressed PasswordVault folder to your Applications folder.

Installing PasswordVault2Go on your portable media drive

  1. Download PasswordVault2Go from the Software WebStore.

Note that PasswordVault2Go is available only from the PasswordVault area of the WebStore. To download PasswordVault2Go, you'll need to put PasswordVault in your WebStore cart, then choose PasswordVault2Go from the download screen at checkout.

  2. Attach a portable media drive to your computer. Portable media drives include Zip disks, iPods, and USB drives (also called USB memory sticks, JetFlash, USB flash drives, and flash memory).

  3. Drag PasswordVault2Go U.app.zip archive into StuffIt Expander and copy the resulting PasswordVault2Go folder onto your portable media drive.

  4. Double-click the PasswordVault2Go X file to run PasswordVault2Go.

See the user manual (installed with the program) for tips on reducing the amount of space PasswordVault2Go takes on your portable media drive.

Note: PasswordVault2Go will create a data folder on your removable media device. If you move the PasswordVault2Go application, you must move the data folder with it or you will be forced to re-enter all your information.

Using PasswordVault

After you install PasswordVault or PasswordVault2Go, you can either Set up PasswordVault or Synchronize PasswordVault if you plan to use it with PasswordVault2Go.

PasswordVault and PasswordVault2Go are both supported by the CITES Help Desk (244-7000).
