If you are a commercial tenant at Research Park who wishes to take advantage of the advanced networking, telephony, and data services available to all University of Illinois students, faculty, and staff, some of these services are now available for a monthly fee through Campus Information Technologies and Educational Services (CITES).

On this page is a list of CITES-standard services available to commercial tenants at Research Park, sorted by audience:

Services for Individuals

All employees of commercial organizations who work in the Research Park are eligible to use any or all of the following Services for Individuals for a monthly fee of $20.00:

CITES Express Email – POP, IMAP and web-based email with 150 MB of storage space
CITES NetFiles – 500 MB of online file storage for sharing, web publishing, and backup
Oracle Calendar – Calendaring and scheduling from Oracle for Windows, Macintosh, and Unix (Linux, Solaris, Irix, HPUX, and AIX) users
Microsoft Exchange – Integrated calendaring, scheduling, and email product that utilizes Microsoft's network infrastructure

Please note: With the exception of Microsoft Exchange, all of the above CITES services are provided free of charge to all students, faculty, and staff at the University. If you are a student, faculty, or staff member at the University, you or your organization DOES NOT need to pay the monthly fee.

Services for Organizations

All commercial tenants of the Research Park are eligible to use any of the following Services for Organizations, which have one-time and recurring charges.

Internet access
Internet2 access

CITES-standard Telephone and Data Services are currently available in all Research Park buildings except the Z-3 and Tech Fab buildings. (The Research Park Board elected not to install campus-standard infrastructure into those two buildings, which are instead serviced by private telecommunications vendors.)

Audio-Video Design, Installation, and Project Management

Need to add an audio-video component to your office?

Whether it's a simple LCD projector or something more complex, CITES engineering staff is available for audio-video design, installation, and project management as well as preventative maintenance and/or repairs of audio, video, and related equipment on a time-and-material basis.

The current labor rates are $65 per hour (subject to change).

Web, Database, and Application Hosting

If you need website hosting with database support, CITES provides fee-based support in all Research Park buildings for Web, Database, and Application Hosting maintained according to best IT practices and Training Services dedicated to providing state-of-the-art training on computers, software, and related technology.

On-Site Consulting

Need to hire technical consultants on a short- or long-term basis? CITES provides fee-based on-site consulting (on demand technical support) and Technical Consultants (via term contracts) for all Research Park tenants.
