In order to help the campus community fight the growing global spam
email problem, CITES created CITES Spam Control. On an average day, this software
stops 1.6 million spam email messages and 8,000 email borne viruses before
they are delivered to individual mailboxes.
New student email accounst are automatically enrolled in CITES
Spam Control and protected automatically. If you find you need to change the
Spam Control settings, there are several ways to customize CITES Spam Control
to suit your needs. The default setting of Cautious Plus works for most new
students. This setting deletes messages that are definitely spam and sends
messages that might be spam to a quarantine that you can use to double-check
whether the message really is spam.
You are allowed to change your CITES Spam Control settings whenever you like.
For more information on how to change your settings, get messages out of the
quarantine and create safe sender lists, visit the CITES
