Bringing a Computer to Campus
If you already own a computer and are thinking about using it on campus, you
should consider whether it has the capability for certain functions. If your
system already meets your needs for word processing, spreadsheets, email, and
Internet access (including graphics), it should work fine for you on campus.
However, your computer may require some upgrades in future years to run newer
software and applications. For security reasons, your system needs to be running
a current version of your operating system (Windows XP, Mac OS X, *nix). Upgrades
are available through the CITES
Software WebStore once you have your NetID
and NetID password. If you are considering purchasing a new computer, the
following pages offer information to help guide your purchase.
