CITES Survey - 2004

CITES > news > survey

For the past couple years CITES has produced surveys offered to all faculty, staff, and students to gauge their awareness of, use of, and satisfaction with some of CITES basic services.  In 2004 two surveys were offered, one covering CITES support (Help Desk and Communications Customer Support), and the other covering four basic services, including email, network, course management systems, and telecommunication services.  CITES uses the results of these surveys to understand the computing behaviors and therefore computing needs of the University community.  We then use this knowledge to improve services.

The surveys consisted mostly of multiple choice questions, whose answers are summarized in the following files.  Both the raw data (grouped by academic “role”) and graphs of those data are included below under "Graphs".  In order to identify trends, many of the questions on the 2004 surveys were duplicates from the 2003 survey.  Where questions were duplicated, graphs are included to compare responses across the two years.

Surveys also included a couple of open-ended questions, “What additional communications or computing support would you like to see CITES offer?” and “Please add any additional comments—suggestions, complaints, etc.—regarding this survey or about CITES Help Desk support.”  Detailed responses to those questions are contained in the files under “Comments,” below.

If you have any questions about the surveys, please contact the CITES Customer Relations Coordinator (cites@uiuc.edu).
