Using NetFiles Instead of Email Attachments
This page describes how to transfer large files with NetFiles instead of attaching them to email messages.
I just finished my final project, but it's too large to email to my professor.
There is no question that email attachments are convenient. However, because large email attachments will quickly use up your email quota, most Internet Service Providers (including the University) have built safeguards into their email delivery system. If your attachment is too large, your message may not even be delivered!
Instead of using email attachments, consider using the guest ticket feature of your CITES NetFiles account. Since you send only a link to the file, not the file itself, the size of the message will remain small. In addition, many people are hesitant to open email attachments for fear of computer viruses. After visiting the link, your correspondents can then save the file. Best of all, the recipient does not need a CITES NetFiles account to view your file.
Whenever you publish a new version of your file, it is immediately available to your recipient through the same guest ticket. There is no need to create or send another ticket!
