Your ICS Password
When all students, staff and faculty members arrive at the University of Illinois they are issued a NetID and NetID password. Your NetID password is used to set up all other passwords, as well as for logging in to secure university web pages and U of I Direct. In order to use the ICS computer labs, you must set up an ICS Password. Your ICS password is not used to check your email or log in to any other computing system at the University; it is strictly for use in the ICS computer labs.
Creating your ICS Password
- Go to the CITES Password Home Page.
- Click on the CITES Passwords button and log in using your NetID and NetID password.
- Check the box next to CITES Instructional Computing Sites Password only.
Note: Leaving all the boxes selected will change your password for all CITES services. - Choose a password and type your chosen password twice in the blank fields provided.
- Click on the Set Passwords button at then bottom of the page.
Once you have set up your ICS password you can log in to ICS computers using your NetID and ICS Password. If you do not set this password, you will not be able to log in to our computers.
