Computer Lab Reservations
ICS labs may be reserved for academic courses for an entire semester or on a day-by-day basis. The labs are also available for conferences during semester breaks.
How to reserve a lab
To reserve an ICS lab for a class, visit our Reservation System. You will need to log in with your NDS password. If you have not set up an NDS password, visit the Password Information page for further details.
Before requesting a reservation, you should view the classroom schedules for each of the labs. The labs with classrooms are Nevada A Classroom (30), Nevada B Classroom (22), Oregon (64), Undergraduate Library (24), and Wohlers Hall (44).
When you have decided which lab you wish to use, click on the "Request Courses and Sections" link in the main menu of the Reservation System. You can then request a lab for a particular semester, or on a day-by-day basis. When you have completed your request you will receive a confirmation email from us when the lab has been officially reserved. If there are any problems we will contact you for more information.
Cost
The rates for reserving an ICS lab are listed in the Reservation System. If you have questions about rates, please send them to reserve@sites.uiuc.edu.

Software
CITES Instructional Computing Sites will offer a list of general use software applications. These applications will be paid for by ICS and will be supported at a basic level by all CITES ICS Site Consultants. If a University of Illinois academic course needs a software application that is not on our list, that department/college must provide the software, in appropriate numbers, to ICS for installation. Licenses must be turned over to CITES ICS and may not be used by the department/college while CITES ICS has that software application installed. Licenses will be returned to the department/college when the class is completed and the software has been removed from our servers. This includes proprietary packages as well as shareware and demo software. We do not install timed demo software. Class software installed will remain on the servers during the Fall/Spring semesters. ALL class software is removed during the summer (unless needed by a class for the summer). A new request for software installations must be made every year.
If an application is needed by a small number of classes but will not be part of the supported list, then ICS will work with the individual departments to provide that application. However, ICS will not buy software for individual classes.
Software installations will take at least two weeks. To make a request, please go to our Reservation System. Again, you will need to log in with your NDS password.
