Illinois Compass

Illinois Compass (powered by Blackboard Vista Enterprise Edition) is a dynamic, online course management system known for its extensive set of teaching tools.

Develop Your Course Workshops

This series focuses on becoming a power user of Illinois Compass. Join us for advanced workshops intended for instructors who already have some experience using Illinois Compass and want to explore more advanced uses in their classes.

Lunchtime Learning Showcase

Lunchtime Learning Showcases are short informational introductions to teaching software and technology. Come bring your lunch, relax, and learn!

Getting Started with Emerging Technology Series

The Getting Started with Emerging Technology Series are one to two hour sessions focused on learning and experimenting with new technologies in online teaching.

Illinois Compass Clinics/Walk-In Sessions

These walk-in clinics are intended to provide one-on-one assistance for instructors using Compass in their courses. We also offer free consulting on the use of a wide range of other educational technologies.

Respondus

Respondus is a powerful tool available for free on our campus for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Illinois Compass.

StudyMate

StudyMate is a Windows-based tool available for free on our campus that allows easy creation of Flash-based practice exercises and quizzes.

WebBoard

We are not currently offering scheduled training for WebBoard. Please check our calendar during the Fall and Spring sessions or call or email for customized training or consulting: 333-1078 edtech@uiuc.edu.

CITES Training Services

CITES Training Services offers a variety of fee-based, instructor-led courses tailored to Faculty and Staff, IT professionals, and the Student Body through three programs: Fast3, Advanced Technology Training, and Student Technology Training. Leading-edge technology classrooms are also available through CITES Training Services for rent to campus and community groups.
