CITES Educational Technologies (EdTech) utilizes a collaborative consulting
approach to meet the needs of faculty, staff, and students. EdTech provides trained experts to focus on the more individualized
and unique pedagogical uses of technology needs for instructors. This
enhanced approach of traditional training looks at how the EdTech Consultants,
along with faculty and other staff, form learning technology teams that produce
the most successful outcomes using the online learning and teaching systems.
The Educational Technologies team:
- Identifies the pedagogical goals of instructors.
- Discusses instructor’s teaching style.
- Determines the technology most useful to meet needs.
- Provides coaching to design classes for optimal student learning.
- Helps instructors learn appropriate technologies.
- Implements the technology for classes.
- Builds collaborative teams by connecting faculty to appropriate campus
resources and experts.
- Works to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of the technology tool in classroom learning.

Approach
One-on-One
A Training Specialist or Computer Assisted Instruction Specialist (CAIS)
meet face-to-face with a Teaching Assistant (TA), faculty, or staff
member.
Team
Faculty, TA's, Research Assistants (RA), and staff members are trained as
a group by a Training Specialist or CAIS.

It is vitally important that we evaluate the effectiveness of the training
and the value of the teaching and learning systems. We ask that you take
5 minutes of your time to complete the online training evaluation immediately
after instruction.
