Java Certificate Error
In
certain cases when logging in to Illinois Compass, pop-up Java
warnings that say "The application's digital signature
has an error. Do you want to run the application?" will cause
Internet Explorer for Microsoft Windows to freeze. To prevent this
problem from recurring on a particular computer, please use the following
steps.
- Log in to Illinois Compass at http://compass.uiuc.edu
- When the warning window pops up, choose the always
trust content from this publisher option and click Run.
- This will cause the browser to freeze.
- Press control alt delete and
then click the Task
Manager button.
- In the Task Manager, highlight "WebCT - Microsoft Internet
Explorer" and click End Task.
This will shut down Internet Explorer.
- When you log in to Compass
again, your browser will work properly.
