Showing Students Their Grades
Students access their grades in Illinois Compass
by clicking on the "My Grades" icon. Instructors can control which grades their students are able to access, and they can change the order in which students see their grade columns.
Releasing Grade Columns
Instructors can determine which columns in the grade book
they wish their students to see by releasing or not releasing
the grade book column.
To access the Grade Book, select the Teach tab, and under Instructor Tools select Grade Book.
Click on the gray arrow next to Grade Book Options and select Column Settings.
For the desired column, toggle the Yes/No link on
the Release
to Student row
to Yes.
 
The column is now visible to students.
Organizing Columns in Students’ My Grades View
To arrange columns in the students' My Grades view, instructors
must arrange their columns under the View All tab. The order of columns in any other view will not be reflected.
Select the Teach tab, and under Instructor Tools select Grade Book.
From the Grade Book screen, click on Reorder Columns.
Click on the selection box of the column that you would like to move.
Click on the Insert Selected Items Above icon to move the column above the selected column.
Confirm that the column has been moved to the correct place. Click Save.
The columns will appear in this order
in the students' My Grades view.
