Campus

  • Instructional Space Implementation Team
    We serve on the implementation team that was created by the Instructional Space Advisory Group to analyze and implement change for the utilization and design of instructional spaces.
  • eLearning Committee
    Our CIO serves on the Provost committee to review and recommend elearning strategy for the campus. This committee was called together by the Provost and Chancellor to provide strategic leadership for academic units and faculty as they develop, implement, and sustain e-learning in existing and new degrees, coursework and other academic programming.
  • Educational Technologists Forum
    We serve on this committee of educational technology providers, enthusiasts, and supporters. The Forum is a community bringing together staff, faculty, and graduate assistants involved in the creation, delivery, and support of electronic instructional material on the UIUC campus.
  • Alliance of IT Service Providers
    We serve on this committee that was chartered by the Chief Information Officer to meet and exchange technical information about campus, college and unit technology initiatives and to formulate best practices as they relate to information technologies

Inter-Institutional

  • Committee on Institutional Cooperation Learning Technology Group
    We serve on the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) Learning Technology (LT) Group. The CIC is a consortium of 12 research universities working to advance academic excellence by sharing resources and promoting and coordinating collaborative activities across the member universities. The LT group is comprised primarily of those individuals responsible for overseeing university course management systems and providing support to faculty who use these systems on the CIC campuses.
  • EDUCAUSE
    The University of Illinois is a member institution of EDUCAUSE, a nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education by promoting the intelligent use of information technology. We serve with others as representatives of the Office of Information Technology.
  • EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative
    We are a member of the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI), a coalition of institutions, organizations, and corporations committed to advancing learning through information technology innovation.
  • SLOAN Consortium
    We are a member of the Sloan Consortium (Sloan-C). It helps learning organizations continually improve the quality, scale, and breadth of their online programs according to their own distinctive missions, so that education will become a part of everyday life, accessible and affordable for anyone, anywhere, at any time, in a wide variety of disciplines.
  • Faculty Summer Institute
    We are organizing members of the Faculty Summer Institute, an inter-institutional conference that addresses the needs of administrators, educators, trainers, and designers who are involved in the application of Web-based technologies to the teaching and learning process and in the planning, administration, and management of online education programs. Now in its 10th year, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus hosts the Faculty Summer Institute every May.

Ad Hoc

  • Online Learning Symposium Planning Committee
    We serve with other faculty and staff on the planning committee for the annual online Learning Symposium sponsored by Academic Outreach. The purpose of the symposium is to bring together educators participating in distance education and explore issues and solutions.
  • Teaching and Learning with Technology Collaboration Group
    We serve on this ad hoc group that brings together professionals and faculty from several units across campus to identify and implement collaboration opportunities in teaching and learning with technology.
  • Educational Media Consortium
    We serve on this ad hoc group to discuss and frame issues and solutions for dealing with educational media on the campus.
