Web Content Editor Graduate Assistant

This web content editor will work with the professional and student staff of CITES EdTech, including our webmaster and faculty support consultants. Duties will range from proofreading and editing others’ documents to creating original help documents and magazine-style stories about faculty use of educational technologies on this campus.

Required Skills:

Ability to write clear, concise descriptions of software problems and solutions and to translate technical terminology into common language; facility exploring and testing software; comfortable working with web browsers, common desktop software, such as Microsoft Office and familiarity with Windows and Macintosh operating systems; ability to work independently with limited supervision, as well as in a collaborative environment.

Desirable Experience:

Authoring of reports, manuals, proposals, and business documents of any kind; incorporating and creating explanatory graphics in educational/training documents; experience with Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, and/or experience with web and graphic design; any newspaper, journalism, or media education or experience; marketing and publicity experience. The primary emphasis for this position will be on outstanding editing, writing, and communicating skills; technical expertise in the specific systems supported by CITES EdTech is not a prerequisite for this position—a general competence with online technologies and a willingness to explore and learn about new technical topics will be sufficient.
