CITES Educational Technologies

As a Division of CITES, Campus Information Technologies and Educational Services, we lead the campus effort toward a cohesive strategy for instructional technologies and online learning; provide core pedagogical online services; and continually explore effective new technologies and ways to incorporate them in the core infrastructure.

Our Mission

The mission of CITES Educational Technologies (CITES EdTech) is to support educators who are teaching with technology by helping them choose and implement the technologies that will best complement their teaching styles and achieve their pedagogical goals.

• CITES EdTech provides free training and consultation to UIUC faculty and staff who want to incorporate computer and web-based technologies into their teaching.

• CITES EdTech specialists consult directly with instructors in the planning and implementation of online course content.

• CITES EdTech continually evaluates new technologies that might be used to enhance teaching and learning; at the same time, we look for new and effective ways to incorporate existing technologies.

• CITES EdTech holds training workshops in three online software packages, offers customized training for instructors, and consults with instructors who are interested in using media in training and online courses.
