Server upgrade: On Tuesday, June 25 from 5:30 a.m.-7:30 a.m., CITES will upgrade the CT server software to a new release. This upgrade will provide CT users faster access to their calendars and will significantly improve the performance of CT Outlook Connector (CTOC). If you use CTOC, to benefit from this improvement you'll need to upgrade to version 3.3, a new release currently available for download from https://www-pag.cso.uiuc.edu/CorporateTime/download.html. New CT releases: New releases for Windows (6.0), Linux and Solaris (5.0), and Windows Palm and Pocket PC (CorporateSync 3.0) are now available at UIUC. A description of new features and instructions for downloading and installing these releases are available on the following pages:
If you're currently using a previous version of any of these, you're not required to upgrade. However, the CITES Help Desk will be focusing its support on these new releases beginning August 1, 2002; thus, to take full advantage of local user support, we encourage you to upgrade before August 1, 2002. There is no charge for any of these upgrades. If you upgrade your Windows client and use Windows Palm or Pocket PC to synchronize your calendar with your Windows client, you'll also need to upgrade your CorporateSync software.[May 31, 2002] Web client email reminder problem fixed: The web client problem announced on March 26, 2002 related to users not receiving email reminders of meetings has now been fixed. [May 31, 2002] Web client problem with email reminders: If you use CT for the Web, you can request to be reminded about upcoming meetings via email. Users have reported problems related to receiving these email reminders late or not at all. On March 25, 2002, we fixed the problem related to receiving late reminders. Steltor Corporation is still working on fixing the problem related to not receiving reminders at all. [March 26, 2002] New version of web client: A new version of CT for the web will be installed Tuesday, March 12, 2002. For details, see "CT for the Web 3.0: New Features." [March 5, 2002] Web client URL simplified: CITES has introduced a new, simplified URL to access the CT web client: http://calendar.uiuc.edu. [March 5, 2002] CT server hardware upgrade: On Tuesday, February 26, 2002, CITES will upgrade the CT server hardware to a new machine that has a larger and faster disk. This new server will provide CT users faster access to their calendars as well as expand our CT service capacity. We also will upgrade the CT backup server by replacing it with the former CT primary server, which has a larger and faster disk, and move this upgraded backup server to a remote location to provide better redundancy.
