Who can get an account: Students, staff, and faculty
How to get an account: All students, staff, and faculty automatically receive one.

Provides access to: Equipment and software in the EWS labs
Who can get an account: Students, staff, and faculty
How to get an account: Students in the College of Engineering automatically receive one. Others may be eligible based on courses or major. For a description of eligibility, see the EWS FAQ at http://www.ews.uiuc.edu/userguide/faqanswers.html
How to start using your account: Use your NetID and your AD password to log in to machines in the EWS labs.

Illinois Compass
Provides access to: Course web sites on Illinois Compass (powered by WebCT Vista)
Who can get an account: Instructors and students
How to get an account:
- Instructors: Go to http://www.cites.uiuc.edu/edtech/teaching_learning/compass/siterequest.html and request an Illinois Compass site. You'll be sent notification when your site is ready.
- Students: If your instructor uses Illinois Compass to support his or her course, you'll automatically receive a Compass account. Most accounts are created when course rosters are uploaded the day before instruction begins. If you enroll late and have trouble accessing Illinois Compass, contact your instructor.
How to start using your account: Log in to Illinois Compass at http://compass.uiuc.edu/ using your NetID and NetID password (see "Your Network ID" http://www.cites.uiuc.edu/netid/ for more information) and follow the links to your courses.
