How CITES Fits into the Campus IT Picture
A description of CITES's role in IT on the campus, along with descriptions of other campus organizations that provide related services
Mission
The mission of Campus Information Technologies and Educational Services is to provide robust, secure, and reliable information and educational technology services that enhance the academic life of the campus community. Further, CITES provides innovation and leadership, in partnership with campus units, to help faculty, staff, and students realize the full potential of existing and emerging technologies.
A Brief History of CITES
The earliest group that would later become part of CITES was a handful of people in the Math Department in the 1950s providing computer operational support. That small group has grown and has been joined by other groups over the years to become today's CITES, with approximately 300 staff members and over 250 student employees.
